And I never expected it to become the platform it is today, with 36 Free SEO tools and partnerships with some of the biggest companies in the industry, including: SEMrush, MOZ, Ahrefs, Serpstat.<\/p>\n<p>So a special thank you, to all my members for joining SEO Review Tools and providing me with feedback and all of you who donated to this project!<\/p>\n<h2>Some of my personal highlights during the past 6 years<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"positive\">\n<li>Getting so much attention and appreciation for the tools that I&#8217;ve build. Initially I just started out developing tools to make my life as a SEO consultant a little more efficient. And luckily other people are also interested in the stuff that I&#8217;m doing. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Working with <strong>Neil Patel<\/strong>, I&#8217;ve build him a nice custom SEO audit tool, you can check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seoreviewtools.com\/neil-patel-seo-tool-development-case\/\">development case here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting <strong>Rand Fishkin<\/strong>. During SMX Munich I had the opportunity to speak a couple of words with the one and only Rand Fishkin. Made me weak in the knees ;-)<br>You can read the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seoreviewtools.com\/smx-2019-recap-top-3-sessions\/\">SMX recap over here<\/a>.<br>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seoreviewtools.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Rand-Fishkin-and-Jasja-ter-Horst.png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Being asked to participate in <strong>expert roundups<\/strong> to give my opinion on multiple SEO related subjects.<\/li>\n<li>Building a WordPress plugin. Simply love WordPress and it feels good to contribute to the community with a plugin. Just released it before going to SMX and here you can download your copy of the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/keyword-research-tool\/\">Keyword Research Tool<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Being mentioned by some of the biggest names in the industry.<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seoreviewtools.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mentions.png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Including: <strong>Cyrus Shepard <\/strong>(He was one of the first who discovered my keyword tool and liked it enough to mention it in one of his blog posts on the MOZ blog), <strong>Ann Smarty<\/strong> and <strong>Brian Dean<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>But not everything is just smooth sailing<\/h2>\n<p>Even when I was still in school, starting my own business has always been my goal. But this it isn&#8217;t as easy as it sometimes looks from the outside. Developing these tools cost me a lot of sweat and tears, especially the first couple of tools. Didn&#8217;t have any knowledge of PHP or JavaScript, so it was a struggle. The first tools took me about four months to build and publish. After that, there was absolute silence&#8230; Not even the crickets where interested in what I was doing ;-)<br>Luckily for me Cyrus Shepard noticed my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seoreviewtools.com\/seo-keyword-suggestion-tool\/\"><strong>Google keyword suggestion tool<\/strong><\/a> and this really helped things moving in the right direction. But it&#8217;s hard to be persistent, when it looks like your project is going nowhere.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another problem that keeps haunting me is focus. I&#8217;ve build 36 SEO tools&nbsp;already, but I&#8217;m keep coming up with new ideas, side projects and amazing tools. And since this project is a one man show, focus is really important. I just need to know my limitations, but unfortunately his is not something I&#8217;m particularly good at.<\/p>\n<h2>So, what&#8217;s next?<\/h2>\n<p>Well lets start with keeping focus ;-)) I absolutely love developing tools and that&#8217;s exactly what I need to be doing.&nbsp; <br>This means in the next couple of months I&#8217;m planning to add some new features to my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seoreviewtools.com\/keyword-research-tool\/\">Keyword Research Tool<\/a>. In addition I&#8217;ll be releasing some new keyword tools for researching specific verticals like: YouTube and Amazon.
